VALUE DOSSIER OF A MEDICAL DEVICE FOR THE TREATMENT OF CORONARY TOTAL OCCLUSIONS (CTO)
SCOPE: Europe

BACKGROUND
The procedure: the main limit of conventional CTO techniques is the low and unsatisfactory rate of procedural success.
The device: the proposed medical system allows cardiologists to approach CTOs with either wire escalation (the standard approach) or an efficient hybrid approach.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE
To communicate the economic value of the product to external stakeholders involved in funding/purchasing processes, through a tool containing all the relevant information about burden of the disease, unmet need, and clinical and economic value of the technology.

APPROACH

  • Evaluation of available evidences through literature research and internal source gathering.
  • Customization of country-specific sections to take into account geographical variability.
  • Parallel development of a health economic tool addressing the economic budget impact of the product, with results feeding the relevant Value Dossier economic chapter.

OUTPUT
A MS Word value dossier, containing key value messages / executive summary was developed, together with a ppt slide deck summarizing main topics and messages of the dossier, for the dissemination of clinical and economic messages and to support a strong value proposition of the device.
